Dredging and pruning are my anual big work a few times a year. I have done the autumnal dredging on 21st(above) and the pruning on 28th and 29th(below).

Thankfully the cruel summer heat was gone and I could finished the work safely.

An Additional Kitchen Ventilator

It became too hot so suddenly and I wanted an additional ventilator to the kitchen. I looked for a suitable one but new ones have become expensive! A very dim memory guided me to find an old one in the attic of my diy workshop. It was old but after cleaning and oiling I installed it as shown in the photo. It's been working satisfactorily. Thank you for the flowers

June 16 was birthday of our late son Tomohiro. We found beautiful new flowers offered to the grave. They might have been offered by someone who had been on friendly terms with him. Thank you for the visit and the beautiful flowers.

Dredging May 2024

I have finished the first of the two dredgings in 2024, blessed with fine weather with comfortable breeze. The weeds and sludge came to fill 6 sandbags. Carrying heavy bags is becoming harder labor each year. Can't I get younger?

Water Leak 2

We had been advised by the water-meter reader for many months to check water leak but I hadn't get myself started to work on it. I couldn't have a concrete idea how to find the leak. Luckily and accidentally I found the wet place the other day on the road behind our house and could successfully repair the leak. Please visit here for details.

Our Azaleas In Full Bloom

A Long Burner Handle

Installing A Vibration Damper

Our car(Mazda Verisa) has been making a vibrating noise when accelerating for several months. We didn't leave it long this time as the last noise we didn't attend resulted in changing batteries and generators a few years ago. It turned out to be a mere vibration of some old board under the car. The garage mechanic told us we can ignore the noise. However, the noise was a nuisance and made me try to stop it.
The belt cover, pointed by an arrow in the photo, is fixed to the body in the way it is dangling, seemed most doubtful. I linked the bottom of the cover to the engine body with pieces of stainless wire expecting them to work as damper. Bingo! The damper worked!

Feb.19 was the ninth aniversary of Tomohiro's death. We found beautiful new flowers offered to the grave by someone. The bunches were somehow familiar to us. I imagined they were offered by the one who had been offering similar ones. Thank you for the visit and the beautiful flowers.
